Charge

The purpose of the Task Force is to create a selection of resources that can be used by BLC members in their efforts to promote healthy scholarly communication practices among their faculty and at their universities. All of the materials would display the BLC logo. Important goals would be to save each of the libraries from developing its own materials and to take advantage of the collaborative strength generated by agreement by all 19 libraries.


Outcomes/Deliverables:
  1. Create a web presence accessible through the BLC website providing general information about successful publicity programs which have raised consciousness among faculty on scholarly communication copyright issues. Much of this information can be taken from existing documents prepared by SPARC, other organizations and individual libraries and universities.


  2. Provide downloadable materials which BLC members can use in their publicity efforts.These would include brochures, information sheets, posters and forms which can be viewed on the web or downloaded. Among the documents to be included is the “Agreement to Extend Author’s Rights” which was recently endorsed by the BLC Board.

Face to face and conference calls.
