Electronic Resources Task Force |
|
ChargePursue the BLC goal (#4) of resource sharing and increased access to resources by: Developing a Task Force-based decision making-model, as approved by the Board, for BLC-wide purchases of electronic resources. Implementing a cost sharing model, as developed and approved by the Board, for BLC-wide purchases of electronic resources.Pursue BLC goal (# 3) of increasing member leverage and buying power in contracts by: Reviewing current electronic resources held by a majority of BLC members in order to identify opportunities for reducing overall costs through negotiating an all-BLC license which could reduce the per institution price. Recommend methods whereby cost savings could be applied to additional BLC electronic resources.Communication: The Task Force will communicate with the BLC community through news items on the BLC's web page, BLC-L, and any COI that may have interest in the project. The Task Force will work closely through the BLC Office and the Director Liaison to make sure information about the project is distributed. Staff Development:The Task Force may hold at least one program for the BLC community on this topic.
