This meeting was the first for the Task Force, so half of the meeting was devoted to introductions, review of the BLC decision making process, a review of the charge for the group, and coverage of any procedural issues.

Interim reports are due March 14, 2003 and April 14, 2003. The Final Report is due June 6, 2003.

The second half of the meeting was devoted to planning the first steps for investigating the status of the print agreements. We decided first to e-mail Collection Heads at institutions that have participated in BLC print agreements to determine each library's current participation and desire to continue with the print agreements.

We drew up questions to include in a form letter, which each Task Force member will use to contact the Collection Heads, and we agreed to finalize this letter over e-mail before sending it out on Monday, March 3, at the latest. We are asking for responses from Collection Heads by Monday, March 10. We then divided up responsibilities for contacting Collection Heads from individual libraries among each Task Force member.

We plan to meet again on April 1, 2003 from 1-3pm at Boston College to review the results of our fact-finding mission.
