Portal Investigation

Establish the BLC as the gateway of choice to both the resources and services of the member institutions and to the wider electronic environment by developing a web site based on the values and principles of the research community. Explore the possibility of integrating the Virtual Catalog into such a project. The portal will serve as an access point for content developed by the Boston Library Consortium. Determine user needs, monitor developments of ARL's Portal Project, and propose a project plan for the consortia. Identify pilot projects that enable BLC participation.
