BLC, Inc. begins one-year project with Naxos Music Library The Boston Library Consortium, Inc. has licensed the Naxos Music Library for a one-year project on behalf of its 19 member libraries. The Naxos Music Library is a comprehensive collection of classical music delivered to the listener by streaming audio over the Internet. The Naxos Music Library allows professors to create playlists for their classes that students can listen to in the library or at home, at near CD quality. The Naxos Music Library and the Naxos, Marco Polo, and Decapo music labels are all owned by the Hong Kong-based Naxos Group of Companies. The Boston Library Consortium, Inc. is an association of academic and research libraries dedicated to sharing human and information resources to advance the research and learning of its constituency. Members are: Boston College; Boston Public Library; Boston University; Brandeis University; Brown University; Marine Biological Laboratory Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute; Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Northeastern University; State Library of Massachusetts; Tufts University; University of Connecticut; University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, and Lowell; University of Massachusetts Medical School; University of New Hampshire; Wellesley College; and Williams College. The BLC's project with Naxos Music Library will run through February 28, 2006.
