Save the Date! Thursday, August 9, 2007 Mezzanine Conference Room, Boston Public Library 10 am -- 12 pm Please join Robert Miller, Director of Books, Internet Archives and his team of OCA scanning center managers when they meet with members of the BLC community on August 9, 2007 in the Mezzanine conference Room, Boston Public Library, 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Robert and his team will be available to answer questions about current scanning center operations located throughout the United States. Draft Agenda-Robert Miller/Internet Archives 1. Outline how each library will flow books to/from the BPL. 2. Outline logistics of book flow within the BPL 3. Outline what the order of libraries will be for scanning - will all libraries send books? will there be a certain % of time allocated for each library each day/week/month? IA response to the above will then be determined. 4. Establish/confirm which libraries will be set up first- z39.50, etc 2 are already set up. 5. Establish test pick/packing list. 6. Establish meta manager privs. 7. Establish sign off for first 10 books from each library. 8. Establish a master time line for when we can start scanning books. 9. Can we establish how the ramp up will be handled? 10. Establish contingency plans if book flow is delayed from non-BPL libraries. 11.
