Representatives: 3-5 Members representing institutions in the Virtual Catalog and BLC Resource Sharing Contacts

Term: Members will be appointed for a one or two year term at the first meeting. Terms will run from September 1-August 31. (Terms for the first year will run from April 1, 2004-August 31, 2005.) Members will serve a two year term after the first year.

This team will work closely with the Virtual Catalog Contacts, Virtual Catalog Users Group, Resource Sharing contacts, Delivery contacts, the COI's for Circulation and ILL and task forces appointed by the Board to explore resource sharing issues.

The Virtual Catalog Team will
  • Provide guidance and continuity for the service
  • Focus on implementation and operation
  • Understand the technical implications of the software
  • Present a mechanism to discuss/act on specific implementation and larger policy issues
  • Offer a role in shaping policies and operation
  • Survey other BLC participants about Virtual Catalog issues that require attention
  • Explore issues/policies as identified by the Board
  • Report to the BLC Board and Management Council through the BLC Office Liaison
