Service:
UPS 2nd day air service is used for shipping between all BLC member institutions. Other shipping methods must be used for non-BLC libraries and for inter-campus delivery.
BLC libraries will use the Massachusetts state-wide delivery service to return materials, if possible. The following institutions use UPS exclusively and cannot receive materials through the Mass. state-wide system

- MIT
- University of Connecticut
- University of New Hampshire
UPS online:
All shipping supply and labels orders are created using the www.myups.com website. Each site has a unique account, which is managed by the BLC office.
Costs:
UPS service is supported centrally by the BLC. Member libraries will not incur direct charges from UPS for services or supplies, with the exception of reimbursement for unauthorized charges (shipping outside of the BLC).
Tip: To keep costs low, please package multiple items going to the same address using a large UPS box or other packaging. Send articles by Ariel whenever possible.
Lost or damaged items:
UPS is responsible for materials lost or damaged in their hands. Call 1-800-742-5877 (with tracking number on hand) to report a lost or damaged item. UPS will send a claim form to the BLC office, who will work directly with UPS in reimbursement for the lost/damaged item. Please inform the BLC office at admin@blc.org or 617.262.0380 of any lost or damaged items so that BLC will be aware of any service problems.
Supplies:
2nd day air packaging and shipping label materials may be ordered from myups.com site. Non-UPS packaging may be used, including recycled boxes.
Online ordering instructions:
Choose "UPS supplies" (midway down the page on right)
Choose "labels, paks and more"
choose the button that reads "add supplies"
Choose 2nd day air packaging, click "select" button
Choose the packaging and the number of supplies you need
choose "add/view" button
to complete the order, click "submit order" button
A confirmation screen will appear. Supplies should take
about 2 business days to arrive.
Ordering UPS 2nd day air bubble paks by telephone:
(These paks are available online listed as "UPS Pad Pack")
Call 1-800-742-5877, choose option 7 (ordering supplies)
Enter BLC's UPS account number.
The order number for the bubble paks is: 01019522616
Specify the address you want the paks to be shipped.
