DIRECTIONS
Visitors from Boston may choose Rt. 90 (Mass Pike) east, to exit 8 at Palmer and follow Routes 181 to 202 to Rt. 9 through Belchertown to Amherst, Follow signs to UMass Amherst.

Or, from the east on Rt. 90 take Exit 4 (W. Springfield) and follow I-91 North to exit 19. From the exit ramp, turn right onto Route 9 and go approximately 4.5 miles to Route 116 North (left turn at the lights), proceed 1 mile to UMass exit.

REGISTRATION
Consortium borrowers can complete the online borrower's card application before they visit the library at http://www.library.umass.edu/service/borrowing/borrowcard.html. Show an institutional photo ID and BLC card at the Circulation Desk in the Du Bois Library to pick up your borrower's card.

HOURS
When classes are in session, the Du Bois Library (the main library) is open 24 hours a day from Sunday 11:00 a.m. to Friday, 9:00 p.m. , and on Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Circulation Desk in DuBois and the branch facilities have different hours so visitors are encouraged to view the hours page http://www.library.umass.edu/hours.html or call ahead, especially during summer sessions and intersessions, as all libraries have a reduced schedule during those periods.

CIRCULATION POLICIES
Most books circulate for four weeks and may be renewed [in person, by mail, or on-line] if no one else has requested them. Periodicals do not circulate. When library materials are overdue a Book Replacement Charge notice is sent to the borrower. This bill includes the average cost of replacemnt for similar items, a Processing fee, and a $10.00 nonrefundable billing fee. Books returned after a bill is issued will inclur a $10.00 billing charge. Late Recalls are charged $2.00 per day.
