OCLC Demo of Consortial ILL Solution for BLC

When: February 19, 2008, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm

Where: Boston Public Library, Mezzanine Conference Room

OCLC will provide a demo for BLC members to learn about enhanced discovery and delivery solutions designed for direct consortia borrowing. Based on conversations with OCLC representatives at Midwinter about possible solutions for BLC resource sharing, the BLC has invited OCLC to provide a demo to the BLC community of its consortial resource sharing solution. Also scheduled to participate in the meeting will be representatives from MINITEX, an organization that has adopted the OCLC consortial resource sharing solution.

As OCLC writes, "OCLC welcomes BLC members to learn about enhanced discovery and delivery solutions designed for direct consortia borrowing. By harnessing the power of WorldCat Local and OCLC Resource Sharing (VDX, ILLIAD, and WCRS) BLC members can enhance the discovery and delivery of all material to patrons regardless of location, material type, and with reduced mediation.

This program is open to all consortium members and will be held on February 19 from 1 pm- 3 pm in the Mezzanine Conference Room, Boston Public Library.

Please RSVP to mailto:admin@blc.org If you are staying for both the Cathy DeRosa program and the ILL Demo please let me know, the BLC will be providing box lunches.
